Add to that, as of November 2020, 63 percent of Americans were living paycheck to paycheck with no savings for emergency expenses. Meanwhile, according to data from the Federal Reserve, Black families have an average net worth of $24,100 pre-pandemic, whereas their White counterparts experience an average net worth of $142,000.
